What Is Track Prep & HPDE?

Track prep is everything that needs to happen before your car is safe and competitive at a track day: a nut-and-bolt inspection, brake fluid rated for track temps, pads with enough meat, tire condition and pressures, fresh oil, torque checks on suspension and wheels, and an alignment spec set for the track instead of the street. For drivers newer to HPDE, we also offer coaching and car control instruction — we run track events ourselves and know what tech inspection looks for.

Why Is Track Prep & HPDE Important?

The failures that end track days (boiled brake fluid, a pad worn to the backing plate, a loose ball joint) are all preventable in the shop the week before. Track driving loads every system far harder than the street, and the margin for a marginal part is zero at 120 mph into a braking zone. Proper prep is also what separates a fun weekend from a tow bill.

When Should You Consider Track Prep & HPDE?

Before your first track day, before any event after months of street driving, and after every two or three events for a fluid and pad check. If you're moving up run groups or switching to slicks, the alignment and brake package should be revisited — what worked at novice pace won't hold up at intermediate speeds.
